Velocity Sports appointed as contractors

Invictus Sports Group (ISG) has appointed Velocity Sports as the contractor for the upcoming building work at the Star Meadow Sports Complex.

Velocity are a company that specialises in the building of sports facilities, with a strong focus on artificial football pitches. In recent years the Hampshire-based organisation has built new 3G facilities for the the likes of the University of Sussex, Whitstable Town, Reading, Luton Town, Herne Bay and Maidstone Grammar School.

They will provide and install the new main artificial pitch, replacing the existing grass surface, and will also oversee other changes at Star Meadow, including – but not limited to – the installation of new turnstiles, new dugouts and new hard standing areas. A full list of planned changes can be found on the front page of this website.

Rich Radbourne commented: “ISG are delighted to confirm Velocity as contractors of the upcoming build.

“They have a proven track record of developing outstanding facilities and of course that is our aim for Star Meadow as well.

“Velocity have worked tirelessly to secure the contract, the approach from their directors has been consistently impressive and we have already developed a great working relationship.

“We’re looking forward to seeing their staff getting to work on Monday as full construction begins in ME7!”
